IMPLANTS

One of the biggest advances in dentistry in the last few decades is represented by dental implants. The evolution of dental implants takes a little over half a century. In the last 30 years, dental implants in the shape of tooth roots have become the gold standard in the treatment of dentition. A dental implant is a type of screw that is inserted into the jawbone and serves as a replacement for a missing tooth, ie. its root part.

Dental implants are usually made of titanium, a metal that is biocompatible and does not cause allergies. High biocompatibility and the possibility of adhesion to the bone is precisely the reason why the material for dental implants is the same as the material from which hip or knee dentures are made. At the Dur Dental Center, we install dental implants according to the highest world standards, using materials from renowned world manufacturers. Continuous education in the field of dental implants and the highest standards of practice allow us to provide you with the highest level of service quality.

TYPES OF IMPLANT INSTALLATION

There are two types of implant placement procedures. Standard implantation, where a dental implant is placed in place of a missing tooth, and immediate implantation, where a dental implant is placed immediately or up to 7 days after tooth extraction.
The advantages of immediate implantation are shorter waiting time for the crown and more favorable bone conditions, because this procedure uses the available bone to the maximum and prevents its resorption after removal. Patients are more comfortable because the whole procedure ends in one visit and the waiting time for the crown is halved.

IMPLANT INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

The recovery period is short and passes without complications. Our patients usually return to daily activities on the same day. The installation of a dental implant in the Dur Dental Center is a routine procedure that can be performed under local anesthesia as well as in conscious sedation. The surgical procedure of installing a dental implant takes 15 minutes and is completely painless and safe. After the implantation of dental implants, the waiting period for osseointegration (bone fusion) is between 3 and 6 months. When dental implants are integrated, crowns are placed on them and this procedure lasts from 5 to 14 days, depending on the number of crowns.
This type of tooth restoration is the best imitation of nature and provides the greatest comfort for the patient. Implants are the best solution in the absence of one, more or all teeth in one or both jaws. They can serve as a support for a fixed (crowns and bridges) or mobile (prostheses on implants) prosthetic solution.

TYPES OF DENTAL IMPLANTS

The most commonly used type of dental implant is a two-phase dental implant. These are two separate parts: the dental implant - a screw that is inserted into the bone and the superstructure - the link between the dental implant and the crown. Both parts are usually made of titanium, but there are also metal-free superstructures made of zirconium that are used to make metal-free crowns on implants. The type of suprastructure to be used depends on the indication.
